COMMON QUESTIONS

Answers to the questions we hear most

These are some of the questions organizations have asked us, and we hope these answer them.

How much does accreditation cost?

Think of accreditation as an investment in your organization’s future. We help you maximize value while meeting your budget.

Reach out to our Finance & HR Manager to receive a copy of our fee schedule

The accreditation fee is all-inclusive and includes unlimited email, phone and videoconferencing support as well as up to 2 in-person visits from CAC’s Support Services staff. It includes electronic copies of the standards, accreditation services, information sessions and award decisions.

This is dependent on the needs and experience of your organization. CAC provides a  Support Coordinator who works alongside your staff, offering guidance and training to ensure a smooth process. We continue to check in long after accreditation is complete. We also recommend setting up a team to oversee the process as a way of setting a habit of quality assurance.

Completely normal. Most organizations feel this way at the start. The self-assessment phase is specifically designed to help you prepare.

Your organization will be  given 30 days and the Support Coordinator will help you with the response document.

You will receive detailed feedback. Denials are very rare, but even if that happens,  organizations get the opportunity to  significantly strengthen their programs through the review process, regardless of initial outcome.

Yes. Nearly half of all CAC-accredited programs carry our Indigenous designation, which recognizes programs built around Indigenous values and practice models. Learn more about our Indigenous Framework.

The maximum accreditation award is 4 years, and 3 years for organizations undergoing accreditation for the first time (after that they are eligible for up to 4 years), depending on outcomes.
