Running a health or human service organization is hard work. Governance, staffing, service delivery, every part of it needs your attention, often at once. Even when things are running smoothly, you wonder how to do more with less.
Your work matters. What if it could be easier?
CAC accreditation gives you the structure, the tools, and the recognition to deliver excellence for your team, your funders, and the people you serve.
Why Become Accredited
Your organization has so much to gain:
External recognition and validation that your organization adheres to industry standards.
A shared goal that brings your team together. Accreditation builds skills, clarifies roles, and develops staff at every level.
Stability and longevity for your organization. CAC accreditation is a partnership. We work with you over an average of 16 months to build the structures that sustain quality service delivery for years to come.
Structures and practices that last. Accreditation isn't a one-time achievement; it's a framework for delivering your best work, year after year.
What CAC offers that other accreditors don't
Accreditation can feel daunting, especially the first time. CAC’s process is built to make it manageable. Here’s what’s included with every accreditation, at no extra cost.
Once you become a CAC client, we’ll help you schedule your initial visit with your Support Coordinator. They’ll guide you through the accreditation process and answer your questions. Initial visits can be conducted on-site or by videoconference, whichever works best for your organization.
Before your On-Site Survey, we conduct a Pre-Site review of your policies and procedures. Our team compares your documentation to CAC standards and identifies both strengths and areas to address, giving you a clear picture of what to focus on before reviewers arrive.
Your Support Coordinator and the CAC team are accessible throughout the process. Whether you have a question about the standards or a challenge that comes up mid-cycle, you can reach us anytime.
Many of our accredited organizations are open to connecting with peers going through the process for the first time. We’re happy to make introductions to organizations similar to yours, whether by sector, size, or geography.
Once you apply, you’ll receive a free electronic copy of CAC’s standards. Hard copies are available for purchase if your team prefers to work in print.
CAC’s fees are designed to be accessible to nonprofit and community-based organizations. We’ll walk you through pricing transparently during your initial visit. For a general overview, see our How to Apply page.
Once you’re accredited, you’ll receive a certificate, a plaque, and the CAC accreditation logo to use on your website, in your publications, and in funder applications. It’s recognition you’ve earned. Make it visible.
